Research Interests
Dr. Pearce has dedicated most of her career to understanding the environmental and genetic factors that influence susceptibility to ovarian cancer. She has made seminal contributions to the understanding of endometriosis-associated ovarian cancer, the role of oral contraceptives and estrogen therapy in ovarian cancer development, and to the development of comprehensive risk models for ovarian cancer. She is a founding member of the Ovarian Cancer Association Consortium (OCAC) and is a leading member of the Multidisciplinary Ovarian Cancer Outcomes group, which strives to understand differences between long and short term survivors.
