Research interests
Dr. Nouri Neamati is the John G. Searle Professor of Medicinal Chemistry at the UM College of Pharmacy. Dr. Neamati has won numerous awards for his innovative drug development research that has benefited several different diseases, including HIV-1. Currently his research is focused on structure and ligand based drug design, cellular and molecular pharmacology, and preclinical drug development. Dr. Neamati also utilizes computer modeling to simulate properties to improve and expedite the clinical testing process and animal models to study drug mechanisms. His research group currently has several promising drugs in various stages of development for ovarian cancer treatment.
