Research Interests

Dr. Meza is an Assistant Professor with the Department of Epidemiology in the University of Michigan School of Public Health and an Honorary Professor at the Mexico National Institute of Public Health (INSP). A majority of his research and interests has focused around the use of mathematical models in assessing cancer risk and carcinogenesis. His current research projects involve modeling lung cancer prevention and control policies and modeling the impact of policies pertaining to cigarettes and smokeless use on US mortality. Dr. Meza is a Coordinating Principal Investigator of the Cancer Intervention and Surveillance Modeling Network (CISNET) lung group and has been an active member of CISNET since 2006. He is also a core member of the University of Michigan Comprehensive Cancer Center and affiliate faculty member of the UM Complex Systems Program.
