M.S.: University of Leiden
Ph.D.: University of Amsterdam (1988)
Research Interests
Dr. Peter Laird is the head of the laboratory of cancer epigenetics with the Center for Epigenetics at the Van Andel Research Institute in Grand Rapids, MI. Dr. Laird pioneered the field of cancer epigenetics by using and developing mouse models to study epigenetic mechanisms. His primary research focus is on the role of DNA methylation in cancer development and the generation of novel cancer diagnostic methods.
